Obituary - "Mrs. E.A. Buckley was born in Mer Rouge, Morehouse Parish, in 1852...Her husband preceded her in death 12 years...To this union were born 12 children, of which 8 survive...The deceased joined the Baptist Church at the age of 18, having been a church member 66 years. At the time of her death, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shreveport. She lived the last 12 years among her children and enjoyed a wide circle of friends who mourn her passing. The high esteem she was held in the different communities was demonstrated by the gorgeous display of floral designs sent by her friends and friends of the family" (per The Jackson Independent newspaper of Jonesboro, LA dated September 18, 1936).

Tom's Note - Her obituary is partially in error, because she was actually born in Union Parish. However, she did move to Morehouse Parish when she was 4 years old and was raised near Mer Rouge.
