Funeral services for Blanche Maynor Basinger, 92, will be held at 12 noon Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Blanche was born on May 31, 1920 in Sarepta, LA to Jim and Alma Maynor. She passed away on September 13, 2012 in Tuttle OK. She was a long time resident of Shreveport until recently moving to live with her daughter in Oklahoma. She was a retired nurse and very creative spending many hours creating lovely ceramics before her arthritic hands made it impossible. Always an outdoors person, her yard in the spring and summer were a showcase of beautiful flowers all around, highlighted by a large magnolia tree.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray H. Basinger; daughter, Sandra Lewis; grandchildren, infant Rusty Hale, Blyth Ann Dixon and LCPL John Edward Hale; her parents, brothers, Wesley, James, Joe "Bud", and Thomas "Carroll" Maynor; sisters, Mildred Ethredge, Doris Weible, and Frankie Traylor.
She is survived by her children, Michael Wade Basinger and wife, Connie, Peggie Chenault and husband, Johnie, Brenda Jernigan and husband, Ryan, James Mark Basinger; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
