Mrs. Lillie Cook, 92, Hawarden, believed to be one of the first white children born in Union County, South Dakota, died Monday [December 10, 1962], at a Hawarden [Sioux County, Iowa] hospital. . Mrs. Cook was born May 21, 1870. She resided in Sioux City [Woodbury County, Iowa] from 1901 to 1931 when she went to Akron [Plymouth County, Iowa]. She resided there until six years ago, when she moved to Hawarden. . Her husband, Charles Cook, died in 1937. She was a member of Vesper Lodge 61, O.E.S., in Akron for 74 years. . Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Goldie Folz of Hawarden, Iowa; Mrs. Sylvia Chilton of Sioux City, Iowa; and, Mrs. Edna McCuddins of San Diego, California; a son, Rollie Folz of Henderson, Nevada; a brother, Otis Maynard of Akron; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. .
