Anna Mayhew was born in 1710 in Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard, the daughter of Matthew and Anna (Newcomb) Mayhew. Anna married William Bassett in about 1726. She died in Chilmark on Martha's Vineyard on September 25, 1780.
Anna Mayhew Bassett's gravestone was apparently intact in 1904 as it is recorded in Vital Records of Chilmark, Massachusetts to the Year 1850, (Published by the New England Historic Genealogical Society, Boston, Massachusetts 1904) at page 85, but no cemetery is mentioned:
