MANSFIELD: Helen Mayer Cormack, 93, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Monday, July 22, 2013 at Conard House. Born March 17, 1920 in Mansfield, Ohio she was the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Hager) Mayer. She retired from Westinghouse and enjoyed boating, fishing and reading. She was a member of St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church.
She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Jeanette Cormack, Brookie Cormack and Betty Conlon; nine "adopted" grandchildren, John, Amanda, Kaylee and Jonathan Simmons and Mary, Ryan, Mason, Maggie and Max Thomas; several nieces and nephews; and her dearest friend and caregiver, Maureen Simmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Cormack and four brothers, Michael, Joseph, Tony and Phil Mayer.
A special thanks is extended to the Conard House for the excellent care given to Helen.
Graveside services will be held at Saturday 10:30 a.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park conducted by Father Nelson Beaver. Friends may call from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church.
