PIONEER MOTHER BURIED SUNDAY
Funeral services were conducted last Sunday for Mrs. Margaret Hensch from the Wm. Hensch home at Sanborn at 1:45 p.m. and from the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Walter P. Schitel officiating. Mrs. Margaret Hensch, nee Margaret Mayer, was born in Blue Earth county, Minnesota, on November 22, 1870, the daughter of Henry Mayer and his wife Margaret Mayer. Later she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in which she continued until the end. On October 16, 1892, she was united in marriage to Chas. Hensch at Lake Crystal, Minn. To this union were born ten children, all living now. In 1901 the family moved to a farm two miles north and two miles west of Sanborn. They resided there until December, 1920, when they retired from the farm and moved to Sanborn. On Novermber 3, 1926, her husband passed away after a brief illness. In February, 1939, she became seriously ill and was confined to St. Johns hospital for some time. Upon recovery from this illness she disposed of her home and lived with her children. In the summer of 1948 she again became ill and that fall she was taken to St. John's Hospital where she remained until October 27, 1950 at 4:45 a.m. when she went to her reward. She had attained the age of 79 years, 11 months and 5 days. She leaves to mourn her children: George Hensch, Sanborn; Carl Hensch, Anoka; Walter Hensch, Springfield, Theo. and Wm. Hensch, Sanborn; (Elsie) Mrs. Walter Horning, Revere; Louis Hensch, Fergus Falls; (Edna) Mrs. Willie Horning, Revere; Leonard Hensch, Canby; and Erwin Hensch, Fergus Falls; also one brother, Henry Mayer, of Lamberton; 22 granchildren; 13 great grand children and a host of other relatives and frineds. Her parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Hensch has been a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aid for over 25 years. Special music at the servies was rendered by the Lutheran church choir with Erwin R. Walz as director. Interment was at the Sanborn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leland Hensch, Melford Hensch, Merlin Hensch, Charles Hensch, Lloyd Waterman and Kenneth Loren. Dinner at noon and lunch after the interment services were served by the Lutheran Ladies Aid. Those from out-of-town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Pete Kisner, Oelwein, Ia.; Miss Augusta Hensch, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hensch and son, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Erickson of Springfield, Nurse Evelyn Hensch, Rochester; Miss Janette Hensch, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Hensch and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hensch and family of Fergus Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Willie Horning and family, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Horning and family and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Horning of Revere; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hensch and family of Canby; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hensch of Anoka; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Loren, Grandy; Mrs. Lyle Stark, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mayer, Lamberton; Rev. and Mrs. Walter Schmidt, New Ulm; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Yackel, Robinsdale; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vogel, Sleepy Eye; Luverne Breitkreutz, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schmitz, Comfrey; Mr. and Mrs. Randal Renneke, Sleepy Eye; Mrs. Ted Faltinson, Westbrook; and Mr. and Mrs. John Kronbach, Lamberton.
