Ruth was born in Nanticoke the daughter of Worthy and Carolyn Carver and educated in the Nanticoke Public Schools .After graduating from Nanticoke High School she went on to Bloomsburg Normal School [now Bloomsburg State College] where she majored in elementary education. After college graduation she taught in the Nanticoke School System until she married and moved to Detroit.She passed away at the age of 31 just seventeen days after giving birth in Detroit to a second son William.She left behind another young son Charles and husband Charles as well. She was interred in Hanover Green Cemetery four miles north of Nanticoke,Pa.
