Caroline Maxfield was the first born daughter of Ichabod Maxfield 1809 -? and Mary Ann Latson 1817-?; the sister of David Maxfield and Charlotte Maxfield. She was first married to Thaddeus John Bisbee in 1848. They lived in Franklin, Nebraska for several years. After her first husband died on July 3, 1894 she married Christopher Columbus Gooding on 4 Septermber 1895, at the young age of 60. Mr. Gooding was 11 days shy of 71 years at the time. With Mr. Thaddeus J. Bisbee, Caroline had nine children: Harvey Thadeus Bisbee 1852-1919, Sophia C. Bisbee 1853-1900, Ida A. Bisbee 1854-1920, Willis A. Bisbee 1857 - , Mary Bisbee 1859-1859, Mattie Bisbee 1860-1861, Lottie B. Bisbee 1862-1943, Minnie S. Bisbee 1867-1898, Eddie G. Bisbee 1869-1892, and Frankie E. Bisbee 1874-1882.
