Doris Evelyn Durbin, 66, of the Carmel Home, died there Saturday, March 11, 1995. She was born in Daviess County, a daughter of the late Nace and Mabel Mattingly. She was a graduate of St. Francis Academy; had attended Nazareth College; was a former member of Immaculate Parish; was a member of Blessed Mother Parish; and was a retired homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Tyler Durbin, in 1967. Survivors include three sons, Stephen Durbin of Owensboro, Byron Durbin of Prospect and Martin Durbin of Burke, Va.; four daughters, Doris Ann Mann of Prospect, Gail Hill of Clay, Susan Powers of Murieta, Calif., and Bonnie Yarwood of Shaw Air Force Base, S.C.; 19 grandchildren; a brother, the Rev. Martin Mattingly of Owensboro; a sister, Jean Yeand of Owensboro; an uncle, Henry Greene of Columbus, Ga.; an aunt, Elizabeth Shively of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews. Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Daviess County. Visitation is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Carmel Home; 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Carmel Home. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
