Not sure just when her parents died but the 1900 census finds her in the home of Crawford and Mollie Lyons and listed as adopted daughter.
Named Sallie Ann Mattingly on her death certificate #23560 and married to Steve Mattingly. Her father is named but her mother is only shown by her last name. Steve Mattingly was informant. Cause of death listed as sclerosis. She was buried in Cloverport, Kentucky on 9-26-1941.
BRECKINRIDGE COUNTY NEWSPAPER OBITUARY – 1941 – CLOVERPORT
Mrs. Steve Mattingly, at the age of 56 years, died at her home here on Sunday, October 19, after an illness of several days and years of failing health. Surviving are her husband and ten children. These are Mrs. J. P. Morgan, Ammons; Mrs. James Tucker, Cloverport; Mrs. Oliver Pate, Hawesville; Mrs. Sam Hanks, Owensboro; Herman Mattingly, Birdseye, Ind.; John E. Mattingly, Cloverport; Hewitt and Roy Mattingly of Panama Canal Zone, and James Mattingly of Cloverport. Two brothers survive and they are John and Lee Pipes of Battletown, Ky. Mrs. Mattingly was married in the early part of 1900. She had expressed to her family and friends her faith in Christ as a personal Saviour, though she was not a member of any church. The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at the Dhonau Funeral Home, the Rev. Dell Roberts of Stephensport officiating, in compliance with her request. The burial took place in Cloverport Cemetery and the pallbearers were L.J. Behan, Allen Black, Henry Masterson, Lon Dunn, Meador Simmons and Lum McCoy.
