Dorothy spent her early life in New York, the Philippines and New Jersey. Mrs. Brandt owned and operated the Reviews on File clipping service with her mother and, later, by herself with the aid of her children and employees. She was a woman of ready wit, a sympathetic person with a great deal of depth and consideration for others. She was a good conversationalist and an excellent cook.
