JAMES MATSON was born February 6, 1937 in Redfield, South Dakota, and passed away June 27, 2005 in Dallas, Texas.

He attended South Dakota State University for undergrad, Kansas University Medical School and came to Dallas to serve his internship, residency and fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center-Dallas from 1962 to 1967.

In 1962 he met the love of his life Judy and they were married in Kansas City, MO. He also became the second full time physician in cardiology at Baylor University Medical Center-Dallas in 1967, then in 1968-1970 he left for service in the Navy during the Vietnam War. During his medical career he had the honor of being selected to the Texas Club of Internists.

He was a warm, calm, patient, and humorous person who was loved by his family, friends, and patients. He had a passion for cooking, fishing, gardening, the Dallas Cowboys, and going to the beach with his family.

A celebration of James ' life will be held Thursday June 30th, at 1:00 p.m. at Northway Christian Church, 7202 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
