Edwinna L. Matson (nee Arnold), passed away on February 5, 2009, at the age of 85. She was the eighth of nine siblings born to Edwin and Lyda Arnold in Decherd, Tennessee.
One sister, Doris F. Hodge, survives in Decatur, GA. Also surviving her are husband, Bob, of 43 years; daughter, Connie Matson and husband, Allen Chapman; her two granddaughters, Meghan and Sophia; and a grandson Wolfgang, all of Wimberley.
Edwinna had an inquiring mind and a love to teach. She obtained a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Texas at Austin and taught in Austin Public Schools for 16 years. She also taught Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Austin, for some 20 years. Edwinna was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Society, Fidelis Chapter. She was a current member of FBC in Wimberley.
The family will receive friends at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd., on Monday, February 9, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev.
