Mary "Sue" McIntosh

June 24, 1915 - October 19, 2009

Funeral services for Mary "Sue" McIntosh, 94 of Giddings, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Giddings with Rev. Chris Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.

Mrs. McIntosh passed away Monday morning at St. Mark's Medical Center in La Grange.

Mary Sue Mathis McIntosh was born on June 24, 1915 in Lexington, Texas to William & Ollie (Dorsett) Mathis. She was employed as a secretary with Lexington State Bank, the REA (which is now Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative), the Department of Defense Rations Board for Lee County and then became the City Secretary for Lexington, Texas before retiring in 1986. Mrs. McIntosh was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Giddings where she taught Sunday School and Bible Class and served as an Elder for many years. She volunteered at Rejuventation in Giddings and enjoyed cooking, canning and fishing,

Mrs. McIntosh was preceded in death by her parents; four husbands, Maurice Pierce, Ruel Brown, J.A. Hosea and Quintus "Puggy" McIntosh and two sisters, Florence Ross & Callie Forbis.

She is survived by family members, Jane & Clarence Zoch of San Antonio, Sharon & Roy Kerr of Carrollton, Beverly & Al Foster of Houston, Virginia Blair of College Station, Jeffie & Jamie Doss of Rockdale, Virginia Thorson of Lincoln, DeAnn Keilberg of Giddings and Fannie Mae Warren of Lee County as well as many great nieces, great nephews, grandchildren and friends.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Giddings or to the charity of one's choice.
