Mrs. Gladys M. Hughes, 88, entered into rest, Friday, October 5, 1990. The funeral will be at 10 a.m., Monday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, with Drs. Charles E. Poole and Al Cadenhead officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Magnolia Cemetery, Augusta. Mrs. Hughes, a native of Augusta, had lived in Macon for the past 54 years. She had retired from the Bibb County Department of Family and Children Services. She was associated with the Bibb County Tax Commissioner's Office for many years. Mrs. Hughes was a member of First Baptist Church and the Ergatan Sunday School Class. She also was a charter member of Hill Baptist Church, Augusta. Survivors include a daughter, Margie Hughes, and a son. Otis F. Hughes Jr., both of Macon; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund of First Baptist Church, 511 High Place, Macon, Ga. 31201, or to a charity of one's choice.
