Lucinda Bane, 82, of Maryhill, died Sunday, April 29, 1990 at Cowlitz Convalescent. Center in Longview, Wash.; following a recent illness. She was born Lucinda Matheny to Benjamin Franklin and Cora Velle Sutten Matheny in Kirksville; Mo., January 17, 1908.
She was married to Bernie Willard Bane, Oct.14, 1924 in Kirksville. Their first son, George, was born in Lyons, Kan. where they farmed. In 1930 they moved to Seattle where their second son, Buel, was born. They then moved to Longview, Wash., and lived there for a number of years before settling in the Pleasant Valley area of Goldendale. They farmed there until Willard retired from the county crew in 1969, at which time they moved to Maryhill.
Mrs. Bane and her husband were active in the Pleasant Valley Grange for many years and had been members of the grange for 50 years. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting and cooking.
She is survived by her husband, B.W. Bane of Maryhill; a son, Buel, of Trout Lake; a niece, Doris Rose, of Kelso, Wash.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the local area; and numerous relatives in the midwest. She was preceded in death by a son George Bane in l984.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 3, at Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home with Pastor Skip Mitchell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Everett Bane, Bennie Bane, Bruce Bane, Ron Gunkel, Don Rose and Neil Van Aelst. Honorary pallbearers will be Blair and Rondal Bane. Interment will be in the Maryhill Cemetery.
