Bessie Irene Armstrong, 90, of Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 30, 2012.
She was born May 23, 1921, in Spencer, W.Va., a daughter to the late John and Hettie Holland Matheny. She was a homemaker and never met a stranger.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Fisher Armstrong and four brothers.
She is survived by her son, Lewis Armstrong; daughter, Drusilla Bumpass; three grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two sisters, June Bock and Lucile Salyers.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Everett Snyder officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
