E. Maxine Ashworth, 85, of Farmer City died Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at her home. Her funeral will be at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Farmer City Ambulance Service or OSF St Joseph's Hospice Program, Bloomington.

She was born September 8, 1915 at Lamont OK, a d/o Chester and Hazel March Mathena. She married Archie A. Ashworth (1914-1983) on September 23, 1933 in Salem. He died December 6, 1983.

She is survived by two sons: Robert (Linda), rural Farmer City; and David of Kell; one daughter, Sharon (Duane) Stiger, Farmer City; one brother: William C. (Donna) Mathena, Kell; two sisters: Myrtle Mathena, Kell; and Mary Lou (Ted) Harkins, San Diego CA; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Mrs. Ashworth was a member of the Weedman United Methodist Church and member of the Horseless Carriage Club of Champaign. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all.
