TEXAS CITY—Patsy Elizabeth Massey Calhoun, 74, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Mainland Medical Center.
Visitation will be 6–8 p.m., Monday, June 20, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, at the funeral home. Eulogy will be given by Kay Alewine. Burial will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock. Following the burial, lunch will be served at Grace United Methodist Church, located at Logan and 7th Ave. North in Texas City.
Patsy Elizabeth Massey was born in Wortham, Texas on August 10, 1936. She married Weldon Duane Calhoun on January 14, 1954. Weldon and Patsy lived in Texas City for 57 years. They have three children, Weldon Jr., Velda and Keith. Patsy and Weldon traveled the United States sightseeing and were very much involved with their family. They loved going to their children's and grandchildren's ball games, outdoor family camping trips, and spending time with their family.
Patsy joined Grace United Methodist Church in 1949. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years, a teacher's aide for the Texas City School District, and she also worked at Bay Supply and Hoover Fab, as a secretary and purchasing agent.
Patsy is preceded in death by her father J. B. Massey, mother Mellie Massey, brother Charles Massey, and sister Kathleen Barber.
Patsy leaves behind her husband, Weldon Duane Calhoun Sr.; son Weldon Duane Calhoun Jr. and wife Judy; daughter Velda Jean Clark and husband Andy; son Keith Charles Calhoun and wife Brenda; 8 grandchildren: Matt Barnett, Julie Ekre, Andrew Clark II, Weldon Calhoun III, Eric Calhoun, Kevin Calhoun, Mindy Taylor and Keith Calhoun Jr.; 3 step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren: 4 step-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Matt Barnett, Andrew Clark II, Eric Calhoun, Kevin Calhoun, Keith Calhoun Jr., and Ryan Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Weldon Calhoun III and Per Ekre.
Many thanks to Grace United Methodist Church and it's members for prayers, support and dinner. Also, many thanks to family and friends for their prayers and support.

Patsy will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
