Verna attended Wayne State College, Wayne, Nebraska, and Dana College, Blair, Nebraska. She was admired and loved by many students she taught both in country schools and in the Tekamah-Herman Schools over many years.
A life-long member of the United Methodist Church in Tekamah, Nebraska, Verna was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. She was recognized as a 75-year member of this church.
A devoted mother, Verna was also, in her childrens' and grandchildren's words, "The Best Grandmother Anyone Ever Had".
Special delights for Verna were summers she and Clifford spent on their farm near Oakland, Nebraska. She was proud that the Anderson farm she still owns is a Pioneer Farm, having been in the Anderson family for nearly 125 years. The farm has always been a special place for the family to gather.
She was preceded in death by husband, Clifford E. Anderson and baby daughter Sharon Jean: parents Doyle and Mable Mason; Sisters Jean V. Mason and Ruth F. Kennedy (Alfred).
Survivors include her daughter, Carole J. Daasch of Omaha, NE; son, Terry C. Anderson (Susan) of Oakland, NE; grandchildren Kristen M. Scott (Peter), Ivan Kent Steinke, Brandon Terry Anderson (Jessica); great grandchildren Jacob and Daniel Scott; brother-in-law Roy I. Anderson of Blair, NE; and nieces and nephews.
