John Brian Mason

Our loving Father, Brother, Son and Friend passed away peacefully surrounded by his family September 1, 2008.

John was born June 15, 1965 to Corinne Larsen and J. Lyle Mason. He graduated from Roy High School as the Sterling Scholar in Drama. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Utah in 1991.

John had a great sense of humor. He was funny and made everyone around him laugh. He loved his son and his family and cherished the times they went racing and traveling together. He had the opportunity to travel to other countries such as Europe, Canada, Mexico and Peru. He also enjoyed several trips to Hawaii.

He loved music and could play by ear. He played the piano and guitar. He had a passion for football and basketball and could be found watching the Utes, Wildcats or Jazz anytime they were playing.

He is survived by his son Tyler J. Hover of Roy, father and stepmother Lyle and Donie Mason of Bountiful, brother Scott Mason (Holly) of Syracuse, Sister Brenda Wheelwright (Paul) of Ogden, step sister Christine Brown (Jeff) of Bountiful, and step brother Terry Maxfield (McKensie) of, Lyman, WY., Aunt Gayla Doucet (Charles) of Scottsdale, AZ., many nieces and nephews, and longtime friend Debbie Hover.

John was preceded in death by his beloved mother Corinne and Grandparents whom he loved dearly.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch Cemetery, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden. Friends and family may gather on Friday September 5, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West.
