Virginia, 89, of Botkins, died at 7:25 p.m., at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born to Edward and Clara (Stegeman) Marx. On Feb. 27, 1943, she married Wilbert Bauer, who precedes her in death.
Surviving are one son, Dr. Thomas (Deb), Ottawa; two daughters, Janet (David) Hassenauer, Wapakoneta and Judy Bauer Stamper, Ridgewood, N.J.; six grandchildren, Julie Hassenauer, Jennifer (Trey) Pettibone, Genevieve Stamper, Gwendolyn Stamper, Theodore Bauer and Daniel Bauer; two great-grandchildren, Lydia Marentette and Lauren Pettibone; and a sister-in-law, Esther Borchers, Fort Loramie.
Deceased are three sisters, Hilda Schwieterman, Edna Hemmert, and an infant twin sister.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Botkins and its Altar-Rosary Society. A graduate of Botkins High School, she was also a member of the Knights of St. John Auxiliary, and the Botkins Senior Citizens. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and playing cards. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
