Staff Sergeant Marx was a passenger aboard
U.S. Army Air Corps RB-34 Ventura #AJ405.

Killed when the twin-engine bomber had an
engine failure on takeoff roll at the
Coast Guard Air Station, Port Angeles,
Washington, and veered off the runway and
struck a concrete structure and burst into
flames, killing five airmen.

S/Sgt. Robert N. Gill
Sgt. Glenn O. Bane
Sgt. Bernard C. Brown
