Alamosa resident Reyes C. Archuleta, 92, passed away December 6, 2011 at the San Luis Care Center in Alamosa.

Reyes was born June 11, 1919 in San Antonio, Colorado the daughter of Juan Estivan Martinez and Carlota Pacheco Martinez.

She was a wonderful mother who enjoyed working around her house, cooking, crocheting, knitting, sewing, gardening fishing and spending time with her loving family.

Survivors include two daughters Louisa Ulibarri of Salt Lake City, Utah; Martha Salazar of Alamosa, Colo.; four sons Orlando (Elizabeth) Salazar of Albuquerque, NM; Harold (Lillian) Salazar of Monte Vista, Colo.; Walter Salazar; Lionel (Vicky) Salazar both of Alamosa, Colo.; 21 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 51 great-great grandchildren, 2 great-great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Reyes was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Pedro Ignacio Salazar, second husband Cleo Archuleta, granddaughter Pearl Holly Salazar, brothers Luis, Patricio, Juan, sisters Amalia, Bertina, Pablita, Nevolena and Esmiria.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Alamosa Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday from 1-5 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home in Alamosa who is in care of the arrangements.
