Funeral services for Opal M. Carver of Arcadia were held at the Calvary Baptist Church in Arcadia. Pallbearers were Paul Harkness, John Hunt, Chuck Riggins, Marley Hawley, Arthur Duvall & Chester Babcock, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Floyd Armstrong, Arthur Pierson, Byron Hunt, Chester Babcock, Sr., Delbert Drake, Kermit Ohme & Virgil Prescott. Burial was in Arcadia Cemetery with Ord Memorial Chapel in charge.

Opal Mae Carver was born 19 Sep 1913 in Anselmo, NE, to Walter & Anna (Null) Martin & died 15 Aug 1980 in Ord at the age of 66 years. Opal was raised near Anselmo & attended grade school in Anselmo before attending high school in Broken Bow. After her formal schooling she worked as a waitress for some time. On 10 Jun 1933 she was united in marriage to Maurice Carver in Broken Bow. After they were married they lived on a farm near Arcadia & continued to farm until their retirement in 1974 when they moved to Arcadia. Opal was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Arcadia.

Survivors include her husband, Maurice of Arcadia; her mother Anna Martin of Broken Bow; 4 brothers Reid Martin of Broken Bow, Paul Martin of Benson, Dean Martin of Grand Island & Duane Martin & one sister Helen Martin of Beatrice. She was preceded in death by her father, a brother & a sister.
