Inez M. Ashley, 77, of McComb, died Aug. 29, 2002, at McComb Extended Care.
Visitation is from noon Saturday at 24th Street Church of Christin McComb, until services there at 1 p.m. Bro. Curtis McCullom will officiate. Burial will be in Algiers Cemetery. Cook's Enterprise Funeral Home in McComb is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ashley was born July 3, 1925, in Magnolia. She was the daughter of Willie and Arie Micelle Maxwell Martin.
She was a member of 24th Street Church of Christ. She was a former member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Mount Olive Baptist Church, and the Church of Christ in Brookhaven. She was self-employed,and a former member of the McComb Club, where she served faithfully until her health failed. She attended school in Pike County. Her family said she was a devoted wife and mother who always put the interest of family first and made sure her children had the best she could provide.
Mrs. Ashley was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Curtis Joe Daniel, who she married in 1945; three sons,A.D., B.B. and Stephen Ashley; and four brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Beverly Ashley, whom she married in 1947; three sons, Curtis Daniels, George Perry and Jimmy Earl Ashley; two daughters and a son-in-law, JoAnn Blount, and Barbara "Lee Lee" and Larry Jones; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother, five sisters, and a host of other relatives, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.
