Old Soldier passes away
John W. Martin, a veteran of the civil war, died Tuesday at the age of eighty-two years. The deceased had been in ill health for several years from troubles incident to old age. Mr. Martin was one of the earliest settlers to locate in Garfield precinct and had since been a resident of this county. Three sons and a daughter are bereft. O.R.Martin , Elmer Martin, and Lew Martin and Mrs F.W. Jones. Funeral services were held from the Baptist church yesterday afternoon and interment made in the city cemetery.
