Ruth Martin Carwile, 98, an artist and homemaker, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at a local care center.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Ruth was born June 29, 1908, in Fort Worth to Carrie and Albert Martin. She graduated from North Side High School in Fort Worth then attended TCU and North Texas Teacher's College in Denton. She continued her painting until recently. Ruth attended seminars and took art lessons from many of the leading artists in the United States. She was very active in senior citizen activities, especially at the Fort Worth and North Richland Hills Centers. She was a longtime member of the North Fort Worth Baptist Church, but had been a member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth at her passing. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors: Sons, Richard Byers and wife, Wancye, Jerry Carwile and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Jerrese Estes, Janna Carwile, Melody Hull, Freddy Byers, Joyce Carwile Durst; niece, Kathleen Cain; four great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
