Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Martin was the daughter of George Martin and wife Sarah J Murry. She was born in Tennessee, probably Perry County since her brother was later born there. I have not been able to locate the Martin's in Tennessee in any of the early census records.
Lizzie is first found marrying Calvin Barber Copeland Monday 11th Dec 1876 in Lavaca County, Texas. Calvin is also from Linden, Perry County, Tennessee so it is not known if they moved from Tennessee to Texas together or not. By 19 June 1880 the Calvin Copeland family with a new son George are living in Caldwell County, Texas and working as a farmer.
By 1900, Calvin and Lizzie (Had 7 of 8 children alive) and 6 of their children have moved to East of Hallettsville Road & Schulenburg Road in Lavaca County, Texas and or living and working on a farm.
May 4th, 1910, Calvin and his family have moved to Carr Village, Nacogdoches County, Texas and Calvin is a laborer in a plainer mill. Lizzie's brother James is living at Nacogdoches & Henderson Road in Nacogdoches County, Texas and since his wife has died, his mother Sarah J Murry is living with them and caring for his five children. I believe James and wife Rachel Melinda Hughes's last three children were born in Alto, Cherokee County, Texas from 1904-1907. Calvin and Lizzie have their 9th and final daughter Myrtle while living in Nacogdoches County, Texas in 1904. After Calvin, Lizzie and the youngest children move on, their oldest sons, George and Alexander live out their lives in Nacogdoches County, Texas.
February 7th, 1920, Calvin and Lizzie or living with their daughter Della and her husband Fate Williams and daughter. Calvin is working as a lumber grader at a planning mill.
In 1927, Calvin and Lizzie moved to Humble, Harris County, Texas.
By April 9th 1930, Calvin and Lizzie or living with their daughter Lula and her husband Frank Long and two daughters.
