Annie Bell Garner passed away October 21, 2010, with her loving family at her side. She was 93 years young. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday October 24, 2010 at Bill Head Funeral Home Duluth Chapel. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Clarence Martin and Dolie Nancy Martin, brothers Oscar L. Martin, Rufus L. Martin, Edward Martin and Curtis Martin, sisters Myrtle Ellis and Dorothy Brumbelow, grandson MarkAlan Nixon, husband Calvin Garner.
She is survived by her three daughters, Patsy Ann Nixon, Sybil Nancy Rampley and Judy Hovatter, grandsons Steven Nixon, Kevin Nixon Sr., Shawn Rampley and granddaughter Melissa Mills, great grandchildren Brian Nixon, Jason Lee Nixon (Holiday), Kevin Nixon Jr., Tiffany Nixon, Brandy Nixon, Dalton Rampley, Kasie Rampley, Brittany Byron, Michael Byron and Hannah Mills, three great great grandchildren Hailey Nixon, Baylee Trowbridge and Dilynn Trowbridge.
Annie contributes her long life to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was baptized at the United Methodist Church at age 13. Annie was a student nurse with Piedmont Hospital in the 1950's and a loving mother and homemaker.
Annie's most favorite things to do was spending time with her family and extended family members. She also enjoyed her creative side. Annie liked to make antique cloth dolls with faces she remembered from her childhood. She wrote and sang songs that related to her life as a child. Annie is gone, but not forgotten.
The family will receive friends Saturday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory Duluth Chapel
