Darlene M. (Martin) Bernard, 70, of 18 Kurikka Place, Westminster, died unexpectedly Monday, February 13th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, shortly after being stricken ill at home. Born in Hooper, Utah on August 9, 1941, she was the daughter of Emerson and Hazel (Higgly) Martin.
She was a Sales Associate presently employed in the fabric department of WalMart where she has worked for 14 years.
Darlene was a 1959 graduate of Hooper High School, Hooper, Utah. She was a talented arts and crafts enthusiast. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, oil painting and especially loved feeding wild birds.
Her husband of 48 years, Jean Bernard, died in 2008.
She leaves a son, Jeffrey Bernard of Westminster; a brother, Emerson Martin Jr. of Ogden, UT; a sister, Sherma Martin of Ogden, UT; one aunt, Aurie Paradise of Winchendon; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Wayne and Gary Martin.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 GlenAllen Street, Winchendon. (Boucher Funeral Home, Inc)
