George W. Martin passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was 87 years old.
George attended Fresno State College for two years and graduated with a degree in business from the University of California, Berkeley.
George's priorities in life were his family and his church, Fresno First Baptist, where he has been an active member since 1930. He served on numerous committees, including the Board of Deacons, Chairman of the Board, and the Evangelism and Nominating Committee.
He faithfully served his Lord and has been concerned about the spiritual condition of those whose lives he touched.
George served in the United States Air Force as a B24 pilot, and flew 29 missions out of Italy.
George married Margie L. Kilner in 1948, and they had four children.
Mr. Martin was a realtor.
He enjoyed fishing at Huntington Lake, traveling the world with Margie, involvement in his church, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Margie; his children, Bradley George Martin, Marjean Kay Enmark, Lindsey Gale Mauldin, and Glenn Welborn Martin; and eight grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Optimal Hospice for their love and care.
A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Thursday, June 22, 2006, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at Fresno Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m.
