Joyce M. Truitt, age 58, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN.
She was born in Valparaiso, IN on April 11, 1946. A resident of Granger, IN since 1997, formerly of Valparaiso, IN.
She was a registered Nurse, and worked for Dr. John Poncher from 1969-1997. Served on the St. Paul Catholic Church Board. Member of the Oasis Club, member of Tri Kappa, served on the Popcorn Festival Board of Directors and was the Food Booth Chairman for the festival for many years. A Valparaiso High School graduate, class of 1964 and a graduate of Presbyterian St. Luke's School of Nursing, class of 1967.
She is survived by her husband, Robert D. Truitt of Granger, IN; two sons, Bryan M. (Stephanie) Truitt of Valparaiso, IN and Scott Truitt of Mishawaka, IN; daughter, Anna Myers of Granger, IN; four grandchildren: Brandon Myers (9 yrs), Carter Myers (5 yrs), Alexis Truitt (8 yrs) and Sophia Truitt (3 yrs); brother, David (Kathy) Martinal of Monticello, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Bess (Anderson) Martinal. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 11, 2004, 10:30 am from Dykes Funeral Home, Valparaiso, IN, 11:00 am Mass at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, IN, the Rev.
