OLD RESIDENT DEAD

Aldrich C. Marshall, who had been a resident of this town for about 40 years, died last Friday night at his home on the Garfield Road, at the advanced age of 86 years. He had been very feeble for the last two years, and was taken worse September 4th, since which date he failed gradually until the end. The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at one 0'clock at the home, the Rev P.A. Smith of the Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the Old cemmetery. He is survived by a widow and two children, Charles Marshall of the west part of town, and Mrs. E.A. Jones. He is also survived by one brother, Ira Marshall of the south part of town.

The deceased was a Civil War veteran, having enlisted from Stowe, Dec. 16, 1861, in Co. E. (7th) Vt. Vol. he re-enlisted Feb 22, 1864, and was mustered out March 14, 1866. Mrs. Marshall was formerly Miss Elizabeth Merritt, a sister of Sarah Sears of this place.
