Shirley E. Dodson, 85, passed away April 21, 2013 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. She was born November 22, 1927 in Belgrade, Nebraska to Herman and Grace Marshall, who passed away when she was young. She was raised by her foster parents, Levi and Katherine Palmer. She moved to North Platte in her early teens and graduated from North Platte High School. She married George E. Dodson on June 14, 1947. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Dodson of North Platte; a brother, Dean Marshall of Marble Falls, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend, Rosetta Farley. Preceding her in death were her parents, foster parents, her husband, George and infant daughter, Connie Joann. Cremation was chosen, private family services will be held.
