Mrs. Ruby Marshall Bartee, 93, of Woodbury, died October 22. Graveside services were held, Saturday, October 25th in Woodbury Cemetery. Rev. Ray Collins pastor of Luthersville Baptist Church and Rev. Harold Burrell, pastor of Woodbury Baptist church officiated. Pallbearers were Bill Bartee, Bill Riley, Dan Steffen, Jack Davis, James Pittman, Charles Lovvorn, Rex Jones and James Marshall.
Mrs. Bartee was born in Woodbury on September 6, 1893. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Marshall and Eliza Dunn Marshall. Her late husband was Fletcher Bartee. They operated a grocery store in Woodbury and after his death Mrs. Bartee operated the store until she retired. She was a former City Clerk of Woodbury and a devoted member of Woodbury Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Doris Freeman of Columbus; four grandchildren, William Bartee, Jr., of Atlanta, Mrs. Jan Steffen of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Bill Riley of Inverness, Fla., Mrs. Jack Davis of Douglasville; and nine great grandchildren.
