Beatrice (Marshall) Graziano, 91, of Langdon Place, Dover, died Friday, May 31 at the Wentworth Douglass Hospital.
Born in Albany, NY on December 7, 1910, she was the daughter of Asa and Ada (Brown) Marshall. She was a graduate of Daytona Beach Florida High School, attended Florida State University and graduated from Castleton State College in Vermont. She lived most of her life in Castleton, moving to Dover in the mid-1980s.
After teaching eight years in the public schools in Vermont and Massachusetts, she became interested in the disabled child. She earned graduate credits in special education at Boston University, Trinity College and the University of Vermont. The last 15 years of her teaching career were spent at the Vermont Achievement Center.
She was a member of the Castleton Women's Club, the Castleton Historical Society, the Vermont Retired Teachers Association and the Rutland County Retired Teachers Association.
The widow of Francis Graziano who died in 1990, she is survived by two daughters, Marsha Ballantyne of Worcester, MA and Patti Hudak of Cleveland, OH; one son, Dr. Mark Graziano of York, ME; two sisters, Mary Shipley of Sarasota, FL and Adelynne Powers of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two grandchildren and one nephew.
Graveside funeral services were held at the Hillside Cemetery, Castleton, VT with The Reverend Robert Boutwell officiating.
