David Morton Marshall, 85, of Charleroi, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012. He was born April 21, 1927, in Bessemer, Pa., the son of the late Charles and Ethel (Galbreath) Marshall. He was a graduate of Sharon High School and earned his bachelor's degree from Washington and Jefferson College. David was the executive vice president and member of the board of directors of the Charleroi Federal Savings Bank. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Charleroi Presbyterian Church, the Shenango Valley F and AM Lodge, the Charleroi IOOF. Lodge No. 1030, the Charleroi BPOE Lodge No. 494 and the Washington and Jefferson Old Guard. He was a past member of the Speers Industrial Development Corp., Speers Borough Councilman and served on the Mon Valley YMCA Board of Directors. David is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marjorie Jane (Harpst) Marshall; his daughter, Diane Stout and husband, Robert Stout, of Beaver; two sons, Bruce C. Marshall and wife, Janet Marshall, of Charleroi, and Jeffrey C. Marshall and wife, Beth Marshall, of York. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Holly Robson and husband, Douglas Robson, of Castle Shannon, Ryan Ellis of Wilmington, N.C., Melanie Lam and husband, Dr. Erek Lam, of Gibsonia, Chelsea Marshall of Charleroi, Natalie Marshall and Jackson Marshall of York. A life well lived with integrity and caring for others. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Dr. Stanley Marks Research Endowment Fund of UPMC Cancer Institute.
