Ruby Green, 90, died peacefully in her home on January 27, 2016 surrounded by family.
Born in Leonard, TX on January 7, 1926 her family moved to Old Woodville where she was raised. Her family relocated to Kingston, OK after Lake Texoma was created where she graduated from Kingston high school with honors in 1945. She was a member of the Alumni Association and celebrated her 70th high school reunion last May.
After graduation her family relocated to Borger, TX and then to Angleton, TX in 1966 where she worked as a bookkeeper for the Brazoria County Library System until she retired. She was a certified driver of the county’s book mobile, delivering books to the smaller communities. She was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church of Angleton.
After her mother died suddenly in 1969, Ruby volunteered for the American Heart Association. She wrote thank you notes to folks who contributed to the cause. That was her “secret” passion.
She was a gifted dress maker as well as decorator for the holidays. Each Christmas was a joy to see what “Me-Ma” had created for her family.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Dona Marsh, sister Edith Burge, grandson Brian David Berg, and husband, James T Green. She is survived by two daughters, one son, step son, and step daughter as well as 5 granddaughters, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
