Mona was born in Lamesa, Texas to John and Edna Rogers, and passed away in Clovis, California.
Mona's father was a cotton and alfalfa rancher in Lamesa till 1945, when at that time he retired and moved his family to Kerman when Mona was 14 years old.
She attended Kerman High School until she left to marry her sweetheart from Texas, Dan Marley. They had met when he was home on leave and she was working at a candy store in Lamesa. They had grown up in the same town but did not meet until then.
After she moved to Kerman, Dan was shipping out of San Francisco and came to see her. They were married when he got out of the service in 1947.
They had two sons Randy in 1948, and Mike four years later. They both attended Central High School.
Dan opened Dan's Dairy Supply and then bought the store building. He sold big drums of soap and dairy supplies to local dairymen.
Mona started Buffy's Junque Shop in the same store building. They phased out the dairy supply in 1971 - 72 after a robbery when their son Randy was killed and Dan was shot in the shoulder.
Dan and Mona were also in real estate since 1959, until they retired.
Mona was preceded in death by her son Randy Marley. She was the youngest of eight children, four girls and four boys who have also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel B. Marley of Clovis, California; her son, Michael Brent Marley; and two grandchildren, Brent Marley and Megan Soto; and one great grandchild, Mason Albitre.
