Jefferson City Post Tribune September 29, 1960:

Henry Markway, 79, died today at St. Mary's Hospital. He had been in failing health for 2 1/2 years. Born June 4, 1881, he was married Oct. 31, 1901, to the former Miss Mary Roling, who died July 18, 1953.

Surviving are three sons, Andrew Markway, St. Louis; and Carl and Paul Markway, Jefferson City; two daughters, Mrs. Ed Egger, with whom he made his home, and Mrs. Francis Struempf, Jefferson City; two brothers, Ben Markway, Jefferson City; and Fred Markway, Wardsville; four sisters, Mrs. Leo DeBroeck, Wardsville; Mrs. Jake Kolb and Mrs. Louis Mehmert, Jefferson City; and Mrs. Roy Stockman, Wardsville; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A retired carpenter, he was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Holy Name Society. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
