Anthony "Tony" Markunas, 43, son of Tony and Pauline Tallent Markunas, was born May 29, 1947, at St. Louis. He died July 3, 1990, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia of an apparent heart attack.
A 1965 graduate of Houston High School, he graduated in 1972 from the University of Missouri-Rolla.
He married Mary Lybyer Aug. 9, 1969. They had three children.
Hw worked for a time for Rawlings Sproting Goods at Licking before moving his family to Columbia. He was an engineer for Electronics Products Division of 3M.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kristine.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, of the home in Columbia; two children, Jennifer and Charles, of the home; his parents, Tony and Pauline Markunas of Houston; three sisters, Barbara Lafferty of Des Moines, IA, Stella Tuttle of Palo Alto, Calif., and Leora Reising of Cinncinnati, OH.
Services were July 7 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sheldon Zook and hte Rev. Frank Childers officiating. Burial was in Dykes cemetery.
