Helen M. Marks Fisher, 92, of Greensburg, formerly of Apollo, died at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 26, 2003) in Redstone Highlands Care Center, Greensburg.
She was born Oct. 22, 1910, in Apollo, and had lived in Lafayette, Ind., and Sun City, Ariz., in addition to Apollo.
A 1928 graduate of Apollo High School, she graduated in 1930 from Indiana State Teachers College, Indiana, Pa.
She was a first grade teacher in Heilwood, a special education teacher in Vandergrift, and a women's residence director at both Westminster College and Purdue University.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Sun City.
Survivors include a son, F. Lang (Susan) Marks II of Eighty-Four; and a daughter, Mrs. Marcylyn A. (Carlton) Spillers of Washington Township.
Also surviving are four grandchildren, Randall (Kimberly) Spillers of Apollo, Mrs. Cynthia (Daniel) Radebaugh of Bellevue, Neb., Mrs. Wende (Lawrence) Hoover of Clearfield and Richard (Michelle) Tomicek of Gibsonia; and seven great-grandchildren, Carlton D. Spillers, Kevin and Kathryn Radebaugh, Nicholas and Kyra Hoover and Andrew and Allison Tomicek.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, F. Lang Marks in 1956; her second husband, Louis Fisher in 1974; a great-granddaughter, Rana Christine Spillers; her parents, Harry M. and Anna Baxter West; three brothers, Earl, Harry M. Jr. and Eugene West; and two sisters, Ethyl Oberholser and an infant.
There will be no visitation. The date and time of a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Vandergrift Cemetery.
