Gladys Markham Bell, 97, passed away at home on April 3, 2015 in St. George, Utah. She was born on December 24, 1917 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Joseph Markham
and Iva Robertson Markham.

She grew up in Spanish Fork and graduated from Spanish Fork High School. She then went on to Utah State Agricultural College and Graduated with her degree on June 4th, 1939.

She Married Marv Bell August 3, 1942 in Midland, Texas. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Gladys taught school in Wayne County, Heber, and also at Altamont and Duchesne Schools. She taught a variety of courses including Home Economics, Reading, Physical Education, and English. She was proud of her teaching capabilities and loved her students. She also helped with various duties in owning and operating a Grade A dairy farm in Arcadia, Utah for over 30 years.

She has served in a variety of LDS church callings and loved her time spent as a temple worker in the St. George temple. Gladys enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit many different countries. She enjoyed finance, politics, and sharing time with all of her wonderfully caring friends and neighbors.

Gladys is survived by her daughter Colleen (Ted) Davis, her 5 Grandchildren: Kevin Davis, Scott (Stephanie) Davis, Todd (Julie) Davis, Anne (Scott) Hielscher, Clayton Fluke, and her 9 Great-Grandchildren: Brendan, Emma, Aaron, Mason, Easton, Jaxon, Katelin, Bryce, Avery, and a 10th expected in May. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother, her husband Marv Bell and her daughter Barbara Bell Fluke.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the Sunset 7th Ward, 415 N. Westridge Dr.. A Viewing will precede the Funeral at 11:00 am.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dixie Home Rehab and Hospice, especially Michelle and Leana for their friendship and care.
