A 1941 Wallace High School graduate, Julia was the daughter of Leslie Markel and Esther Zeiders Markel. On October 2, 1943, she married Frederick Cantamessa in Wallace and she worked as bookkeeper for the family business, The Food Center, also in Wallace. She held membership in both the United Church of Christ Congregational Church and the Wallace Elks Club. Her husband, Fred, her parents, and her sister, Jane Johnson, all preceded her in death. Julia is survived by 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Her remains were cremated, and memorial service is to be held Thursday 11/27/2007 at the church.
