From a copy of a handwritten record, written by the Rev. John Preston Marion (b. 1847) in 1893: "JANE MARION Born in 1810. Married John Aiken, a farmer and a good and industrious man, but rather fond of strong
drink. Died in 1854. Was threatened with consumption. Left four children: Elleanor, David, Sarah, John. Elleanor married a Hutchison, David a Byerly, Sarah a Hutchison, John moved to Pickens County, Alabama. Aunt Jane was tall and slender, fair complexion, black hair, blue eyes. In disposition mild and meek, and rather retired. A member of Salem Presbyterian Church, Fairfield County and buried at that church. In this church it was my privilege to preach for two or three days and I then visited her grave nearby."
