John Frank Margrave, 95, who lived in Pittsburg for 85 years before moving to Kansas City, Kansas, to live with a son, Orville Margrave about five years ago, died Sunday in the University of Kansas Medical Center where he had been a patient for a week. He has been seriously ill since October.
Born in Bentonville, Arkansas, September 1, 1870, Mr. Margrave came to Pittsburg with his parents while a small boy. He worked for twenty years for the W. S. Dickey Clay Manufacturing Company and later operated a motor car wrecking service here.
His wife, Mrs. Bertha Margrave, to whom he was married for 42 years, died several years ago.
Surviving, in addition to the son with whom he had been living, were two other sons, Roy Margrave, 801 East Eleventh, and Lawrence S. Margrave, Manteca, California; a daughter, Mrs. Floy Hanson, 709 East Ninth; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
The body will be received by the Smith Funeral Home with funeral services to be announced later.
