Edie, as most people called her, was raised in Boston, MA and later moved to San Francisco, where she worked and fell in love with her surviving spouse, Ted. She is also survived by her brother Maurice of Boston, MA and her sister Gus Tarter of New Jersey. She had an incredible lust for life, and loved to travel and explore new cultures and countries. She was a collector of special people, she seemed to attract only those as exceptional as herself, this tended to make events at her home especially enjoyable. She gave selflessly to family members and friends. Her skills with people, and giving nature made her a joy to be around. Her courage, positive attitude, ready smile, and sheer determination to overcome, in the face of any and all challenges, is an inspiration to all who knew her, and the highest expression of teaching by example. She derived great joy from her membership and many friends in her beloved Eastern Star and its several attendant bodies.

Edythe

A love such as ours
shared for lo so many years

Was a gift from "God"
for "God" does honor
a true love, a love so pure, a love so rare

A love that inspires each lover to climb the holy mountain and live their life in the light

And when that moment comes

when the lovers must part for but a blink of eternity's eye and their hearts are sorely wounded by the loss

remember

Remember the love
remember the laughter

remember the life lived with honor
with enthusiasm
with all the glory that love enables

And
remember to honor the one you've lost
by "living" your life

Until you are again united for all time in loves' eternal embrace

Ted
