Gueydan: It's with great sadness that the family of Carl Wayne Marceaux, age 49 of Gueydan, announces his ascension onto Heaven early Wednesday morning while in the comfort of his home surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Friday, March 25, 2011 @ 2:00 PM with Father Jason Vidrine officiating. The Marceaux family requests visitation be observed at Matthews & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, March 24th from 10 AM - 10 PM and resume on Friday morning at 8 AM until the time of his services. A rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7 PM. Carl will be laid to rest in the Gueydan Cemetery.
Carl Wayne was born and raised in Gueydan and this was the wonderful community he raised his beloved family. Carl was a drilling consultant for several petroleum companies. He earned the profound respect of his fellow employees, all of whom he held in high regards. He also loved doing anything he could outdoors like hunting, riding 4 wheelers, camping, cook outs, and barbequing. The one thing he loved the most in his life and brought him an enormous amount of joy was spending time with his family and friends. Carl was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his parents, Edison & Earline Harrington Marceaux of Gueydan; his beloved wife, Nancy Ann Meaux Marceaux also of Gueydan; 2 sons, Byron Anthony Marceaux of Gueydan and Carl "TC" Edward Marceaux of Lake Charles; 2 siblings, Troy Marceaux and wife Tina and Kathy M. Martin and husband Kenneth all of Gueydan; and numerous nieces and nephews, Nina, Alexa, Mia, Trinidie, Kennidie, Seth, Terence, Tommy, and Corey.
