James O. BOWYER, 26, R.R. 1, Rochester, father of three children, and his mother, former Kewanna resident Mrs. Floreine G. BOWYER, 44, died in a fire that engulfed the mother's home, R.R. 2, Logansport, at 4 a.m. Sunday. ....... The James Bowyer family resides just south of Ind. 14 and just west of Ind. 25 near the Checker gasoline station. Double rites will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Kewanna Church of Christ with the Rev. Arthur HICKS officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Kewanna. Friends may call at the Harrison Garden chapel in Kewanna after 1 p.m. Tuesday.

James BOWYER was born Sept. 22, 1946, in Muskegon, Mich., to William and Floreine MAPES BOWYER. His marriage was April 10, 1966, in South Carolina to Judy Ann PAXTON, who survives. He had been an employee of the Bick Transit-Mix company the past year. He was an army veteran having served in Germany and Vietnam from 1965 to 1969. He was a member of the National Guard at Logansport. Surviving with his wife and father are two sons, James [BOWYER] Jr. and William [BOWYER], both at home; a daughter, Brenda [BOWYER], also at home; five brothers, Dale [BOWYER], LaCrosse, Ind.; Wayne, Daniel, Timothy and David [BOWYER], all Logansport; two sisters, Janice BOWYER, LaCrosse, and Mrs. Maurice (Joann) COHAGAN, Kewanna. A brother, William [BOWYER], was killed at the age of 23 when the car he was driving hit a bridge abutment on Ind. 17, a half-mile north of Kewanna, on April 29, 1971. The family resided on the Tom WALSH farm near Kewanna at the time.

Mrs. Floreine G. BOWYER was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Hart, Mich., to A.B. and Hattie SIBLEY MAPES. Her marriage was Oct. 23, 1945, at Marion to William B. BOWYER, who survives. Also surviving are five sons; two daughters; her step-mother, Mrs. Dan MAPES, of Bay City, Mich; two brothers, Herbert and Lloyd [MAPES], both of Muskegon, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Geri) CROTHERS and Mrs. Everett (Ruby) EGO, both of Shelby, Mich., and nine grandchildren.
